Dear readers, my wife and son are huge Jujutsu Kaisen fans. My son buys all the collected volumes of the manga saga and they both watch the TV series - and then quarrel about little plot details. So they were delighted when they read the following news. Please read on.
Akutami Gege’s Jujutsu Kaisen is a certified smash. The manga, which debuted back in 2018, now has over 90 million copies in circulation. To celebrate that, and the release of its 25th volume, an ad has been published in a recent edition of both the Asahi Shinbun and Yomiuri Shinbun, Japan’s two leading newspapers.
The ad, illustrated by Akutami, shows Ryomen Sukuna on one page and Satoru Gojo on the other. Buy both newspapers, and you can stick them together to show the whole illustration.
Here’s how Viz Media describes Jujutsu Kaisen:
In a world where cursed spirits feed on unsuspecting humans, fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna were lost and scattered about. Should any demon consume Sukuna’s body parts, the power they gain could destroy the world as we know it. Fortunately, there exists a mysterious school of Jujutsu Sorcerers who exist to protect the precarious existence of the living from the supernatural.
