The first part of my walk: Gotanda Station (above), Fureai Waterside Square, and the Yamanote Line crossing the Meguro River.

Dear readers, I’m sharing a photo report from my recent walk along the Yamanote Line—this stretch runs from Gotanda to Osaki. The first part is available to all, while the second is a small thank-you to my paid subscribers. The photos appear in the sequence I took them.

If you like what I do, here’s your chance to support Tokyo Calling.

.And don’t forget there’s also a special 80% discount on annual paid subscriptions.

$30 → $6 (see link above)

Any kind of support is truly appreciated—whether it’s liking, commenting, sharing, or restaking. Every bit helps spread the word and makes Tokyo Calling more visible. Thank you.

Today, the Meguro is home to (from left to right) Japanese gobies, mullets and ayu (sweetfish). The diagram on the right shows how clean the river has become from 1971 to 2003.
