Wow! I wasn't expecting a detailed road kill recipe, Gianni. Want an interesting subject for a post!

Until recently, road kill in Australia was considered inedible but we're changing our views on that. I've tried kangaroo meat a few times but that was in restaurants and at a BBQ (I'm pretty sure it wasn't scraped off the Hume Highway but you can never tell).

There used to be a restaurant in Tokyo where you could eat kangaroo, crocodile, and other delicacies. The Japanese are very curious and adventurous eaters and will try anything at least once.

How would you rank kangaroo meat, by the way?

Kangaroo meat is low in cholesterol and a good alternative to beef. Strong and gamey but healthy.

Thankfully, you didn't say it tastes like chicken, Margaret!

The Japanese don't really eat rabbit. Women, in particular, find them too cute to eat them. When they ask me what it taste like, I say "like cats." You should see their horrified look.

Rabbit is quite boney _ more meet than bone, that's what I found.

No, Kangaroo is far too strong to taste like chicken or anything else I've eaten.

I eat a considerable amount of game in Japan, mostly venison, but never considered roadkill. In my neighborhood there isn’t much.

Yes, I wonder if there are any roadkill chefs in Japan. It may be the next fad!

Ha ha, rodukiru-o tabemasho!

Nah, only chicken for me. I'm on a diet.

Interesting to see your mention of London Orbital, a fascinating book!

I'm not finished yet. It's interesting, maddening, genial, deep, and frustrating in equal parts.

On the fiction front, I very much enjoyed Geoff Nicholson's Bleeding London.
