Dear readers, as you may remember (I hope), almost one month ago I wrote about my desire to start a book-length project called Tokyoites: A Portrait of Tokyo Through Its People, and asked who was interested, and if and how you wanted to support it.
For this purpose, I created a very short survey consisting of just two questions:
Are you interested in reading these stories? (YES / NO)
If you are interested, how would you like to support this project?
a. I will make a one-time donation (US$10.00)
b. I will contribute through a yearly subscription (US$30.00)
c. I am only interested in reading it for free.
Unfortunately, the results were disappointing, not because only few of you were interested in my project but because very few people even bothered to take the survey.
Anyway, here are the results:
10 readers took the survey. All of them answered YES to the first question.
One of them, however, chose not to answer to the second one.
Of the remaining nine people:
4 chose 2(a) (donation)
1 chose 2(b) (yearly subscription)
4 chose 2(c) (want to read for free)
OUCH! That really hurt!
Though under those conditions I’m not able to do the whole project, I’m sure that a few of those stories will pop up on these shores sooner or later, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, could the five people who chose either answer 2(a) or 2(b) please let me know who you are? You can directly answer this mail.
Thank you, and see you soon.
Good luck!
