Dear readers, last week I did my annual medical check-up, and it seems I need to do more exercise and change my eating habits.
Fair enough. I may be an incurable procrastinator but when it comes to my health, the sooner I start the better, especially at my age.
Following the example of my friend and fellow substacker Jeffrey Streeter, this morning I started a daily 30-minute session of hard walking.
Which gave me an idea: why don’t I take a picture (or two or three) during my morning outings and post it on Tokyo Calling.
That’s how writers and other assorted creatives see life: every little thing, even the most banal and mundane, can be turned into a post.
So here it is, my first photo. A lady walking her dog, the dog looking for a good spot to do its thing, and in the background, the rice fields that by now you should already know.
I’m taking most of these photos on the go, without breaking stride, so the framing will sometimes be off (that’s my wife on the left) and the images may be out of focus. Taking nice pictures is not my priority here.
Let’s see how far I can go.
Good idea for a series of posts. Looking forward to reading all about your walking adventures, Gianni.
I'm a walker, too, although I've slowed down over the years. The best ideas come to me while I'm walking. It's probably the same for you.
Nice. Any movement is good. For greater cardio benefit you need to invite sweat. Short HIIT sets without no equipment for a start. (:
