This is wonderful, Gianni! I had no idea about ‘KFC for Christmas’ in Japan and the Christmas Cake reminds me of strawberry shortcake. Thank you for this and Merry Christmas! 🎅 🍗
I love X'mas in Japan! The festive lights and atmosphere makes you wonder if the Christian population of Japan is really only 1%! Everything is so cheery and festive!
I celebrate X'mas in Yokohama almost every year. The first time was in the early 90's, and also the first time I saw the JR Express TV commercial. I fell in love with Tatsuro Yamashita's Christmas Eve immediately, and it has been my favourite Christmas song till today.

Indeed, it's a strawberry shortcake. Not very original, and not even one of my favorite cakes, but it's okay.
I wish you a sweet holiday, Jolene, and all the best for the new year.
Merii Kurisimasu ! Love this, I cross posted it to my Substack column. A great glimpse into Xmas Japanese style.
Thank you! I've just subscribed to your Substack.
Xmas Express is brilliant!! Happy Christmas to you :)
Thank you, Kate. All the best for the new year.

I couldn't agree more about "Christmas Eve." So many memories... It may sound corny, but I get goose bumps every time I listen to that song.
Same here! Brings about very nostalgic feelings...
