In Japan I often pity those dogs unnecessarily clad in some “cool “ outfits contradicting their nature. Japan, let’s make kids before you disappear or taken over by big neighbours (:
Interesting article, Gianni. Yeah, pets are the new kids in Sydney, too. Especially dogs. You can't walk along footpath in Sydney without making way for the almighty dog and owner.
No, dog owners are pretty entitled in Sydney. But not as entitled as couples pushing a pram with a couple of dogs on leashes so long you could hang the lot of them with.
Oh, ha! ha! I would like that very much - have some knife-wielding crazy-lady called Mary or Maria or something going at them full-throttle! Heh, heh ...
We have areas like this in London too, where new buildings are going up in a cacophony of colours and styles, with no reference to the surroundings. I agree, it's disorientating. In this context, it's such a relief to come upon a bit of graffiti and grime - touchstones of reality.
My friend is a dog groomer, her observation is that Sydney dogs are trained so much better compared to dogs in Japan (if people here train them at all…).

I hope in Australia they are as considerate as in Japan. Here's it's rare to find "mementos" in the streets.

I wonder what happens when two such couples cross paths.
Who cares? If I see such a scene, I avoid it.
Could be as fun as a Hammer film!

"Wildly eclectic" architecture - very true!

Caroline, you make even your comments sound like poetry.
Ah, you are so kind, Gianni!

Maybe the opposite of their owners? Just saying.
May be…
What I love about Tokyo is finding the unexpected behind every corner.
Thank you for this Tokyo flashback!
