A friend was particularly impressed by the Tokyo Beatles. Unfortunately they didn't last long: until 1967. They only managed to release two singles, the second one being "Kyant Bai Mii Rabu." According to the Wikipedia's Japanese page, the music in those two singles was actually performed by studio musicians, while the band only sang the songs.
Great article, Gianni! Good to learn of the Beatles' popularity in places other than Britain and America.
They were famous everywhere. My sister used to have one of their last singles (or was that the very last one?), ”Get Back” / "Don't Let Me Down."
Very interesting, and well-timed with the release of the Beatles new documentary film! Can't wait to read the next 2 installments!
Thanks! Researching and writing these stories has being a real pleasure and has renewed my love for the Fab Four.
